Disability Justice 101
The Disability Justice 101 Organizing Series is an educational program designed by the Youth Action Council. The series consists of different educational topics that centred around disability justice. There are three available term schedules, with a monthly session facilitated by disabled educators, organizers, and artists. The goal is to build the capacity for youth to learn about disability justice and give them the tools to organize and advocate for themselves and each other. This program will prioritize those who identify as disabled, 2SLGBTQIA+, Black, Indigenous, racialized, and youth ages 15-29.

Disability Justice 101: The Toolkit
As part of the DJ101 Series, we have put together a series of wider reflections on our work since the series began—particularly focused on our most recent series. Over the course of the 18 included workshops, the Disability Justice 101 Organizing Series created a vibrant learning environment for youth to explore, question, and build skills rooted in disability justice. Each session was online led by disabled educators, artists, and organizers whose work centers liberation and care. The series moved through a wide range of topics—from foundational knowledge and legal rights, to creative expression, cultural resistance, and systems navigation—offering participants both critical analysis and tangible tools. Youth learned how disability justice connects with other movements, such as reproductive justice, anti-imperialism, housing justice, and abolition.

Let the learning continue with this toolkit and build more together by/for/with youth in your own interconnected, disabled communities.
